Your endurance is the most significant factor in determining essential health and fitness results!
Recent research from the Norwegian School of Exercise and Sport showed that VO2 was the most important fitness variable for maintaining health and improving longevity.
Heart rate is the primary measure of intensity and training level in endurance exercise. The general training “zones” found online do not apply to 97% of the population because of individual metabolic variability and fitness levels. Using estimated zones based on the 220-age formula will have minimal impact on your ability to achieve your goals and live longer. Apps have only a 3% chance of accurately estimating your metabolic abilities and how you should exercise.

The only way to know if your endurance exercise routine is effective is a VO2 max test. It provides an actual number for your oxygen use per pound of body weight and tells you whether you have maximized the effect of this fitness component on your health. Scientifically, you are better off being in the good or better category for your age. A VO2 test gives you training zones that significantly improve your results. Train more thoughtfully, not just harder.

Pack more benefit into less exercise time
A VO2 measurement gets results by tuning your program to your physiology. Testing is simple; anyone can do it!

Wear a simple mask and sensors that measure your cardio-metabolic response as you exercise at increasing intensities. The data collected defines your personal response to exercise and sets your optimal training zones and plan. Your maximum is what you can do that day, not what is expected from an Olympic or Professional athlete.
This 9–17-minute profile measures your endurance (aerobic) and sprint (anaerobic) abilities. It uses that information to determine training zones tailored to your metabolic response to exercise, helping you achieve maximum results in the least time. You will know precisely how many calories you burn in your individualized training zones.
Interval or sprint training is important to health and performance. The test determines your overall training plan, the optimal blend of steady-state and sprint work, your readiness for sports performance, and even your ability to fight the aging process. Referred to as VO3, Neil Wolkodoff, PhD, was the first clinician to validate and apply this concept. No matter what your fitness level, this test will improve your results.
We test you in the comfort of your home on your favorite aerobic equipment. As an extra precaution, we sterilize our test equipment after each use and again just before your test. The results apply most to the exercise equipment you use most.
We can test upright and recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, and treadmills. Why not test and apply the information on what you use most?
Neil Wolkodoff, Ph.D., has performed over 4600 VO2 Peak profiles and has an array of assessment equipment, including a VO2Master Pro and OxyconMobile, allowing measurement of any exercise mode you choose at any location.
The session includes goal analysis compared to your current exercise schedule, the test, interpretation, and an 8-week personalized training plan.
TESTING FEES: Home/Denver Metro Area: $349. Second family member at same appointment time: $149. All re-tests are only $149. Testing and initial results with interpretation generally take 45-55 minutes per person. Outside the Denver area, we charge a travel surcharge for trips 25 miles or more from central Denver.
Note: sub-maximal tests performed at many athletic clubs and on some exercise equipment do not scientifically measure your abilities and levels; they project these numbers and are of very limited value. VO2/VO3 Peak or Max testing is the gold standard and valuable for determining exercise needs and level.
